Today In the News and Other Nonsense...

Meez 3D avatar avatars games

As I see by the news on Yahoo Mr Obama has said he will be doing something about the American contribution to global warming, something that most other countries have already begun. I wonder if that means he will ban SUV's and those decked out pickups?

One bit of news that made me cringe was some poor woman was killed by her husbands coffin! I don't know the particulars of it but then I wasn't about to read that one.

A while back a little girl of nine was found to be missing. It came to light her mother was involved along with other family members or used to be family members. Why would anyone do a thing like that? Who was it said we all want our 15 minutes of fame?

I have finally taken my funkeys out of their package and have them on the computer desk. I haven't gotten them installed yet but it is a start...baby steps you know. I don't care for changes to begin with so this is a major thing on my part.

I played my first game at this site I visit today and actually enjoyed it!

Sarah is home ill this week. We had stopped eating lentils and now we remember why. It plays havoc with her IBS. Should I be saying that?

Gotta go though as tea is nearly cooked and I am hungry!

Power Rangers Dino Thunder!

I'm an avid Power Rangers watcher and have been since 1993 when it was Mighty Morphin Power Rangers with Jason, Zak, Kinberly, Trini and Billy as the teens that Zordon gives the Ranger powers to.Rita is the biggie baddie and she decides after numerous attempts to stop the Rangers to fight fire with fire and having a green ranger power she brainwashes Tommy. It's a long story but in the end Tommy loses his powers and what he does have left he hands over to Jason who is the red ranger. Now I have to say by this time I was rather fond of Tommy and cried myself to sleep that night thinking we were losing him forever.

But keep in mind this was really a show for kids, hmmm maybe not eh? and things are not always what they seem.

Meanwhile Rita our baddie brainwashes Billy and the rangers lose their power except for what Tommy had passed on to Jason.

Zordon gives Tommy the green ranger powers on a temp basis and he manages to defeat Rita, thank goodness. It was all very exciting and evoked a nail biting, hiding under the blanket session, only to peek around the corner to see if we were winning.

The tear jerker for me came when the White Ranger was introduced and it was TOMMY!!!!

Jason, Trini and Zak head off for a peace conference and we are introduced to the exchange of powers with the Rangers and get Adam, Aisha and Rocky.

Kimberly's time comes to an end and she leaves also to pursue her other interest in athletics and we get Katherine who had caused no small amount of trouble while under Rita's spell.

After this comes many incarnations of Power Rangers. Some I really like and others I can take or leave.

Presently I am watching Power Rangers Dino Thunder and was really not a happy bunny when it ended abruptly last year with no resolution to what Mesogog is doing or was doing.

Luckily I had a day where I was not busy at 10am and lo and behold there they were! My Rangers fighting the good fight with Dr. Oliver who by the way is Tommy all growed up and everything.

The reason for all of this rambling on PR? Today was a cute one. My rangers were watching a show of themselves that was from Japan. At first Connor was put out and huffing but soon he was just as caught up in watching as the rest of us and at the end he understood the message. Granted Japanese television is hoekie and stupid for the most part with exaggerations all over the place but watching the rangers watch themselves was fun.

In the picture you see a white ranger but don't mistake him for a good guy, he's not. Mesogog is a collegue of Tommy's named Anton Merser. He is Mesogog. He is also father to the white ranger, who was a nice guy at first and then was made bad or really baddest of the bad.

How will it end? I don't know but I'm pulling for the team as you can imagine.

Tommy then....

Tommy or Dr.Oliver now.

Well! I have to first say that I did have a good giggle over it but then that should be expected. I thought about going to ASDA for a can and giving it to Adam but decided that might not be the best way to proceed on this so I have chosen to just become a follower and see what happens.

What you say? It seems that Blogger thinks he's spam LOLOLOL! I think it's because he is also on Caleb's blogs as an author because they write together.

I do love your last post though big guy, it's really good!
Sarah and I got all these DVD's over the last year or so and we are just now sitting down to watch them. So far we have gotten through five I think but that is because she insisited we watch The Fugitive before US Marshals. Yes, we've seen them before for the most part but we replaced the videos with DVDs and haven't taken the time to check they are alright until now. We still have about seven series to get through and at some point we will have to put out an APB on one as it seems to have left the building much like Elvis.

I get to go with the office crew for their Christmas dinner this year!!! I'm really touched that the other ladies would let me do this too as they won't allow their "others" to come along! I think it's because I'm a girl too. At first I wasn't too keen about wearing a skirt but after I thought about it I think I will. I got this really cool one that when you wash it you are supposed to wring it out and let it dry that way...I ironed it, lol; and it gives me a reason to wear one of those really great jumpers I got too!
Our neighbour a few doors down is going to build a conservatory. She has three birds now and at night when they are out her poor hubby can't hear the TV for the noise. He does them for a living and also on the side for himself so it shouldn't be that difficult you'd think. Wrong! She really wants it up before Christmas but that isn't going to happen now. Well, it could if he got going on it but he's a he soooooo....

We have this one family that is strange. Or at least she is. She walks with her head. You know the type all bent forward like walking into the wind. If I have the curtains open and she's going by she always looks inside. ALWAYS. She does this to everyone and never says hello to anyone. Sometimes she's out with her man or her man and her son who should really be on his own by now. I get the feeling she would be like this one woman that used to live next to my Gramma when she gets old and if you piss her off she will come and pee on your lawn.

You Are Somewhat Machiavellian
You're not going to mow over everyone to get ahead...But you're also powerful enough to make things happen for yourself. You understand how the world works, even when it's an ugly place. You just don't get ugly yourself - unless you have to!

A Real Life Brat (not a copy)

Meez 3D avatar avatars games

Havin' my hotdog before this time LOL!

Discipline As We Now Know It...

Unless you have been there you really haven't any idea of what it's like; not really. Maybe you "role play" on IM or in a group online but even that can't compare to the real thing.

It's not even really butterflies, it's more than that. I cannot imagine what my brat friend in the states goes through on Wednesdays. He must be in knots by the time he gets home.

It's not all the time either. Only every so often when I remember. My palms break out in a sweat, my stomach comes alive, my eyes tear up and over what you are asking (or not).

Living in a discipline relationship is not always easy. It takes a lot of work and a lot of talking or in some cases (like me) writing to get the job done.

We had fallen into a bad habit and along the way my Top had seemed to give up. I can't imagine how that made her feel and for that I am truly sorry.

A few weeks ago I sat down at the computer and wrote her a letter. Yes, I did because I am much better at saying it on paper than I am in person. For some reason unless I am dealing with what I consider a peer or beneath me (that sounds pompous doesn't it?) I get tongue tied or have brain farts and can't think.

So we embarked on a new and improved discipline relationship and I must say I think it might be working better!

I haven't had the stomach flutters in a long long time or the sweaty hands so that is a good sign.

There is a certain calmness to it all that helps too. The certainty of knowing it will actually happen and that is a vast improvement.

Yes, I am pushing the buttons right now and testing the waters so to speak but that should be expected by both of us. I'm pretty much seeing how things will be handled from now on and so far I'm impressed.

Lions, Tigers and UFO's, oh my!

First it was Mexico, then India and finally space! They are everywhere and causing people to stop, pull out their cameras and shoot footage of them.
There are differing thoughts on whether or not there really is life beyond us and I suppose it depends on which camp you belong to as to whether or not these where alien or something explicable.
I am not so arrogant as to believe that we on earth are the only life form in all of the universes and on the same token I am not so arrogant as to think that other life forms are so very interested in us.
That isn't to say that given the chance they or we for that matter would not travel to another place to visit, lol.
This was in my in box today and I imagine it was in yours too...

I am reading off and on a lesbian book that is supposedly to help newbies in relationships. I can't say that it really does though. It is funny in parts and makes me laugh but as for any sort of real help it falls way short.

I think that lesbianism like being a Christian will be one of those things that I won't see eye to eye with the main streamers on.
I will not be lumped in with a whole group who is under fire from others and stereotyped to such an extent that there is no breathing room at all.
Huh, come to think of it I get it from the athiests (not the intelligent ones though, just the loud ones) and the breeders! (right wing conservative fundamentalists) One more group and I get my own island.

Wednesday, 5 November 2008

I was woken up this morning by someone knocking on the door. Turned out to be a delivery and I explained he had gotten me out of bed lol.

Why so late? I was up watching the US election last night hoping that Barack Obama would win. Not for the reasons it seems so many voted for him though. I don't care what party he comes from and being what is constantly being touted as a "minority" but because he said the right things and his quiet calm made me feel safe.

I didn't expect such a huge majority of votes though! 338 electorial votes went to him and I don't think that has happened since before I was born!

I know a lot of past candidates have quoted Kennedy for whatever reason but he chose Lincoln. That had a bit to do with it too, as Lincoln has always been one of my favourites from history.

The one thing I haven't really gotten my head around is the whole race thing. I was trying to explain to Sarah the other day how it works in the US and it goes something like this.

One parent is white, one is not (black, native american, asian, etc) so you are automatically dumped in the minority category. I don't understand the whole racism thing, we all bleed red and we all want the same things for our loved ones but cie la vive.

After listening for a while this morning I cried. Don't ask me why but I really believe that this man could and will try to do his best. I just hope that the other bodies of government let him.

I was saddened to see that Florida upheld the banning of same sex marriage. Apparently the people there don't get it yet. I won't hop on Caleb's bandwagon though as he gets more heated about it than I do. America is just not ready to step to the beat of other countries. It is comfortable in it's old shoes.
California is a disappointment though. I would of thought that that state with all of its so called openness would vote to keep the bill allowing it.
Apparently they aren't as progressive as they want us to believe.
