I was woken up this morning by someone knocking on the door. Turned out to be a delivery and I explained he had gotten me out of bed lol.

Why so late? I was up watching the US election last night hoping that Barack Obama would win. Not for the reasons it seems so many voted for him though. I don't care what party he comes from and being what is constantly being touted as a "minority" but because he said the right things and his quiet calm made me feel safe.

I didn't expect such a huge majority of votes though! 338 electorial votes went to him and I don't think that has happened since before I was born!

I know a lot of past candidates have quoted Kennedy for whatever reason but he chose Lincoln. That had a bit to do with it too, as Lincoln has always been one of my favourites from history.

The one thing I haven't really gotten my head around is the whole race thing. I was trying to explain to Sarah the other day how it works in the US and it goes something like this.

One parent is white, one is not (black, native american, asian, etc) so you are automatically dumped in the minority category. I don't understand the whole racism thing, we all bleed red and we all want the same things for our loved ones but cie la vive.

After listening for a while this morning I cried. Don't ask me why but I really believe that this man could and will try to do his best. I just hope that the other bodies of government let him.

I was saddened to see that Florida upheld the banning of same sex marriage. Apparently the people there don't get it yet. I won't hop on Caleb's bandwagon though as he gets more heated about it than I do. America is just not ready to step to the beat of other countries. It is comfortable in it's old shoes.
California is a disappointment though. I would of thought that that state with all of its so called openness would vote to keep the bill allowing it.
Apparently they aren't as progressive as they want us to believe.
